Preparatory Course
This short course will prepare learners for success in their studies during the program. The course will offer learners the opportunity to explore their own and others learning styles and to find ways of working together that are both productive and collegial. It will also encourages learners to plan ahead and develop effective study skills and patterns which can bring them success throughout the program.

Computer Basics
This short course will teach learners the fundamentals of Microsoft Suite software, particularly MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Leaners will also be taught correct typing technique and basic e-mail skills.
Medical Science & Transcription 1

This will be the first of a two-part medical science course dealing with systemic anatomy& physiology as well as diseases, diagnostics, therapeutic intervention and medical terminologies related to the system. In addition, medical transcription skills will be cultivated, practiced and enhanced.

This is the second of a two-part medical science course concerned with systemic anatomy and physiology, as well as diseases, diagnostics, therapeutic intervention, and medical terminologies related to the system. In addition, medical transcription skills will be cultivated, practiced and enhanced.

This course will teach learners all the duties and standard operating procedures necessary in a healthcare office setting such as reception skills, scheduling, record management, mail processing and inventory. The learners will also be taught to perform basic clinical procedures.
Medical Billing Procedures
Medical Billing Procedures
This course teaches learners the important aspects of medical billing procedures. MSP fees and guidelines, as well as alternate billing such as WCB, ICBC, private insurance, out-of-province and medico-legal billing are emphasized. Learners are also introduced to the Oscar-Electronic Medical Record computer software program
Practicum
Practicum
This practicum experience will provide the learner an opportunity to consolidate knowledge and skills gained in classroom into practice. The learner will work under the direct supervision of an experienced certified MOA in a professional healthcare office.
Career Development
Career Development
This short course will teach students strategies in job searching, cover letter & resume making and job interviews. Learner will also be required to exhibit keyboarding skills of at least 45-50 words per minute and take WHMIS and Standard First Aid & CPR-C with AED certificate courses.
